About Google Anita Borg Scholarship

Google established the scholarship program in honor of Dr. Anita Borg with the goal of inspiring and empowering women to seek possibilities in computing and technology.

Dr. Borg earned her Ph.D. in computer science from New York University\’s Courant Institute in 1981, and she has since created an excellent career in computer technology.

She was instrumental in breaking down barriers that prevented women and underrepresented groups from pursuing careers in technology.

She founded the Institute for Women and Technology in 1997, which continues to promote women leaders in the technology sector.

Worth of Google Anita Borg Scholarship

Women in Technology Scholars will each earn $10,000 USD (for students in the United States) or $5,000 CAD (for students in Canada) during the school year 2023-2024.

Women in Technology Scholars from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa will each receive a 7,000 EUR (or local equivalent) prize for the academic year 2023-2024.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship

All potential candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Applicants must identify as female.

2. Applicants must be enrolled in an approved university for the academic year 2023-2024.

3. Candidates must intend to enrol or have been accepted as a full-time student in a bachelor\’s, master\’s, or doctoral programme at a university in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, or Africa for the academic year 2023-2024.

4. Applicants must be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a technical field closely related to computer science.

5. A high academic record must be demonstrated.

6. Candidates should demonstrate leadership qualities as well as a genuine interest in increasing women\’s engagement in computer science.

Documents Required for Google Anita Borg Scholarship

2. An up-to-date resume or curriculum vitae.

3. Academic transcripts from your current institution and any previous institutions where you have earned a degree.
